Email Announcements (by Kent and Teresa Ahrenholtz)

If you need to send an announcement, please send it to Kent and Teresa Ahrenholtz, our Region 16 IAHE representatives, at region16@insightbb.com. DO NOT HIT REPLY to a SWIHE message as your reply will be forwarded to the entire SWIHE Steering Committee. Do not post messages on the SWIHE site - they will not go through and entail more work to be included. Please send announcements in your email instead of as attachments as that helps me work more quickly.

The deadline for submitting announcements is Monday at 5:00 p.m. Those messages will be compiled and sent out by Wednesday morning. Occasional encouragement emails or urgent announcements will be sent as necessary. The Ahrenholtzes and Steering Committee members all have capability to post messages as a backup measure to ensure urgent messages can be sent.

I compile messages quickly and occasionally make mistakes - if I omit a message, it is probably an error of working too quickly as a volunteer to get out the weekly message. If I miss one, just send me a gentle reminder.

At the same time, I reserve the right not to send certain information if there is good reason to believe it is an unsafe activity, poses risks to others, or is unrelated to homeschooling. If I need to make a judgment call about whether an announcement is appropriate, I first check with the Steering Committee, and we make a joint decision on whether to send it. As with any activities involving children, parental discernment and vigilance are advised - as is noted at the bottom of each SWIHE email. Parents have primary responsibility for determining whether activities are appropriate and safe for their families.

Please do not ask me to send messages outside of the weekly timeframe unless it is an urgent, life and death matter such as a critical prayer request or sudden legal threat to area homeschoolers.
